Untuk Indonesia: When Art Becomes an Act of Care
Art can be a form of celebration, but it can also be a form of care. That idea sits at the heart of “Untuk Indonesia,” a charity event organized by Guruh Sukarno Putra and held on August 27, 2026, at Deheng House, Kemang, Jakarta. Presented in support of children affected by cancer, the evening brought together music, dance, fashion, and traditional Indonesian culture, featuring performances by Marcell Siahaan, Gema Indonesia, Kinarya GSP, Putri GSP, Willy Aviantara, I Ketut Gunawan, and members of Gadis Sampul, with Soraya Haque and Al Syarif as hosts.
At the center of the evening was Guruh Sukarno Putra, one of Indonesia’s most distinctive cultural figures. The youngest son of Indonesia’s first president, Sukarno, and Fatmawati, Guruh has spent decades working across music, dance, choreography, fashion, and performance. That philosophy was particularly visible through Gema Indonesia, a choir developed under Guruh’s guidance. Guruh Sukarno Putra
An Indonesian artist, composer, choreographer, and cultural figure, Guruh Sukarno Putra has spent decades exploring the relationship between music, dance, fashion, and Indonesian cultural traditions. As the youngest son of Sukarno and Fatmawati, he grew up surrounded by the country’s political and cultural history. His later work, particularly through Swara Mahardika and his various stage productions, established him as one of the key figures in modern Indonesian performing arts.
Marcell Siahaan
One of Indonesia’s established pop singers, Marcell Siahaan has built a long career through his distinctive vocal style and work across contemporary Indonesian music. His participation brought a familiar voice from the country’s popular music scene into the charity program.
