LEDAKAN (Layar Special Dadakan): Bask in the Afterglow
LEDAKAN (Layar Special Dadakan) is back with its 7th edition, running from February 7–9, 2025, at Metro Cinema Kemang, South Jakarta. After launching in February 2023, this alternative film screening program is ready to level up in its third year. With the theme “Bask in the Afterglow,” this edition promises to be more explosive than ever.
LEDAKAN serves as an alternative screening program, aiming to connect the works of Indonesian filmmakers with a broader audience. The theme “Bask in the Afterglow” symbolizes the emotions, inspiration, and reflections left behind after experiencing powerful stories on screen. As Screening Director Dana Wardhana explains, “We want audiences to leave happy, inspired, or even reflective. That’s why we chose this theme—it’s about celebrating the lasting impact of cinema.”
Expanded Horizons for the 7th Edition

The 7th edition introduces exciting innovations, including a diverse lineup of films that might otherwise be difficult to access. Among the highlights is Ismail Basbeth’s SARA, which will serve as the Closing Film. For the first time, LEDAKAN will showcase animated films, including Lullaby by Mama Ocon and Falling Forwards by Monica Maheswari. Dana Wardhana shares, “This is our 7th edition and the third year of screenings. We’re thrilled to keep leveling up, and this year, we’re introducing an Opening Day and guest films in the animation genre.”
LEDAKAN’s Opening Day will feature Maaf Senin Tutup by Anggun Priambodo, accompanied by a complementary exhibition. This film and exhibition were chosen for their alignment with the theme, enhancing the immersive experience for viewers.
In addition to the opening and closing films, LEDAKAN will present 18 short films divided into three compilations:
- Compilation 1: The Social Conundrum
Featuring Lullaby (Mama Ocon), Terang Bulan (Guruh Nusantara), In the Name for Love (Exsell Rabbani), Layla Want It (Mauliya Maila), The Eleventh Body (Daphne), and A Girl (Praditha Blifa). - Compilation 2: Polarization
